Welcome to McReavy Photography!

At 5AM, assuming I’ve avoided the snooze button, you’ll find me brewing our (first batch of) coffee and settling in for a quick study of God’s word. By 6AM the tiny people are stirring… and after that, all bets are off.

The best advice I ever got was…

“Life is simply a series of phases, you’ve got to learn to enjoy each phase because before you know it, you’ll be on to the next one.”

Having kids affirmed this statement, and I’m on a mission to enjoy each phase, no matter how wild. I’m a full-time wife, mom, arts and crafts buddy, tiny tots band member, and playground enthusiast. At least that’s the current phase!

While these two littles are little, my photography business thrives. I’m deepening all of my skills and seeking out the best of the best clients to work with. It’s a wild phase and I’m loving every second of it.

I didn’t realize photography was my calling until…

Six years ago I decided to get serious about painting - I know, not what you expected. My goal was to dig deep into one art form to discover my voice. All the while I continued to enjoy photography. After two years of committed painting, I realized the one thing that would define my creative path forward: The paintings that made viewers pause were paintings of photographs I had taken. All of the beauty, passion, light, and story in those paintings were actually reflections of my photographs.

My camera is a tool I use to tell stories.

Looking back, even before I used all my high school graduation money to buy my first “real” camera, I loved photography for its perfect lighting and storytelling capabilities. I tore pages out of magazines not because I cared or even knew what the product was but because the picture was so perfect. My college degree included a minor in Photojournalism and while I’ve photographed everything under the sun, food just keeps me coming back for more.
